Das Familiengrab der Dedekinds befindet sich auf dem Gräberfeld 29 des Braunschweiger Hauptfriedhofs. Um dieses zu erreichen, wende man sich - vom Haupteingang in der Helmstedter Straße kommend - vor der Friedhofskapelle nach rechts und folgt dem Weg nach Osten. Dort, wo der Weg eine Linkskurve beschreibt, beginnt linker Hand das Gräberfeld 29. Das Grab befindet sich ziemlich in der Mitte dieses Felds. Am Haupteingang des Friedhofs ist zwar ein Orientierungsplan aufgestellt auf dem die Lage der Gräberfelder auszumachen ist. Allerdings sucht man dort vergeblich nach einen Hinweis auf das Familiengrab. Der Grabstein für Richard Dedekind besitzt innerhalb des Familiengrabs eine ausgesprochen exponierte Lage und fällt schon durch seine Größe auf. Er enthält noch einen Hinweis auf eine andere Grabstelle.

The grave of the Dedekind family is located on the area numbered by 29 of the main cemetery of the city of Brunswick. To approach it enter the cemetery through the main entrance in the street named Helmstedter Straße and turn to the right just in front of the chapel. Following this lane to the East the area 29 begins at the left just at the junction when this lane starts a bend to the left. The family grave is approximately located near the center of this area. The gravestone for Richard Dedekind possesses an exposed position and is striking due to the size of its gravestone. The latter also contains a hint to the grave of a relative.
