Monument of Pythagoras and Alcmeone in Crotone (Italy)
Unweit des Busbahnhofs für die innerstädtischen Buslinien in der Straße
Corso Guiseppe Mazzini, dort wo die Via vecchia carrara einmündet,
wird mit einem Denkmal der beiden großen Gelehrten Krotons, des Mathematikers
Pythagoras und des Mediziners Alcmeone, gedacht. Die einzelnen Komponenten des Denkmals
sind in Detailaufnahmen weiter unten wiedergegeben. Die bronzene Plakette enthält
neben den Porträts der beiden allerlei Symbole, die auf der Tafel rechts
vom Denkmal aufgezählt werden und nachstehend ins Deutsche übersetzt sind:

Anzumerken wäre, dass beim wesentlichen Text die römische
Schreibweise des Buchstabens U - nämlich als V - verwendet wird und
der Name der Stadt (Kroton) in griechischer Schrift - nur zu erkennen an den
Buchstaben Rho und Omega - gesetzt ist.

Close to the central bus station for the city lines in the street Corso Guiseppe
Mazzini where the Via vecchia carrara is joining it there is a monument,
which commemorates to the mathematician
Pythagoras and the physician Alcmeone the both great scientists of Kroton.

It is worth mentioning that in the main text the letter U is used in its roman variant, namely as the letter V. Moreover the name of the city Kroton is written with
greek letters, only be recognizable by the letters Rho and Omega.
