Auf dem Carl-Zeiß-Platz in Jena bedindet sich das
Ernst-Abbe-Denkmal in Gestalt eines achteckigen Tempels mit vier Eingängen.
In der Nähe ist eine Tafel aufgestellt (siehe das Bild weiter unten zwischen dem
deutschen und englischen Text); diese weist folgende Information aus:

Leider kann das Denkmal nur zu besonderen Anlässen besucht / betreten werden, da der allgemeine Zutritt wegen Vandalismus verwehrt wird.
Unmittelbar am Platz befindet sich auch das Volkshaus, dessen Errichtung - wie die Inschrift an der Frontseite ausweist - auf Ernst Abbe zurückgeht. Dieses Gebäude ist am Ende dieser Seite abgebildet.

Abbe is erected in form of a octogonal temple with four entrances. Close to it a
board presents the following information (only in German):

Unfortunately the temple can only be visited in occasion of special events. It is usually closed due to vandalism!
Directly at this square also the people's house is located. According to the inscription at the front of this building, its erection was initiated by Ernst Abbe. A picture is provided below.
