In der Ladenpassage Galerie du Roi / Koningsgalerij in Brüssels
Stadtzentrum ist beim Laden mit der Nr. 7 eine Gedenktafel angebracht, die daran erinnert,
dass hier die erste öffentliche Filmvorführung in Belgien stattgefunden hat.
Gleichsam werden auch die Gebrüder Lumière und
Joseph
Antoine Ferdinand Plateau geehrt. J. Plateau hatte die Möglichkeit entdeckt,
statische Bilder periodisch bewegter Objekte zu erzeugen. Der Text der Tafel ist in
französischer Sprache verfasst und lässt sich wie folgt ins Deutsche
übersetzen:
Hier fand am 1. März 1896 die
erste öffentliche Vorstellung des Lumière-Kinematografen in Belgien
statt.Hommage an die
Gebrüder
Lumière, an
den belgischen Wegbereiter Joseph Plateau, den Forschern und Pionieren der
FilmtechnikAngebracht wurde die Tafel am 1. März
1956 auf Initiative des Nationalen Komitees der Filmschaffenden und unter
Mitwirkung der
Belgischen Cinematografischen Korporation

At shop no. 7 of the shopping mall Galerie du Roi / Koningsgalerij
in Brussel's centre there is a plaque reminding that the first cinema show in Belgium
took place at this location. In addition the Lumière Brothers and
Joseph
Antoine Ferdinand Plateau are honoured. J. Plateau discovered the method to generate
static pictures of periodically moving objects. The French text of the plaque may be
