deutsch Die Gedenktafel zu Ehren von Christoph Clavius befindet sich am ehemaligen Jesuitenkolleg in der Straße An der Universität in Bamberg gegenüber des Portals der Alten Aula, was auf dem Bild unten am rechten Bildrand zu erkennen ist (vgl. hier). Die Tafel enthält den Text:

Gedenktafel errichtet anno 1859.
Christoph Clavius
wurde zu Bamberg 1538 geboren,
trat in den Jesuiten-Orden zu Rom 1555,
lehrte als Professor der Mathematik 20 Jahre,
wurde berühmter Schriftsteller derselben,
Astronom und Verfasser des Gregorianischen Kalenders,
starb zu Rom 1612 am 6. Februar.

Die Fotos wurden im Juli 2005 aufgenommen.

english The commemorative plaque honouring Christoph Clavius was inaugurated at the former Jesuits college in Bamberg. It is located in the street An der Universität (At the university) opposite to the portal of the Alten Aula which can be seen at the right edge on the picture below (cf. also here).

The text of the plaque may be translated as follows:

Commemorative plaque set up in 1859
Christoph Clavius
was born in Bamberg in 1538,
entered the Jesuit Order of Rome in 1555,
teaches for 20 years as a professor for mathematics,
and became an famous author on this topic.
Astronomer and author of the Gregorian calender,
died in Rome on 1612, at February 6th.
