Nördlich des Mehringplatzes im Stadtbezirk Kreuzberg in Berlin ist in der sich unmittelbar anschließenden Fußgängerzone in der Friedrichstraße der Pfad der Visionäre in Gestalt von in den Fußboden eingelassenen Metallplatten angelegt. Vielen europäischen Ländern ist jeweils eine solche Platte gewidmet, wobei diese die Landesflagge, die Bezeichnung des Landes in der Landessprache, auf deutsch sowie auf englisch, die Person, der das Zitat zugeschrieben wird, deren Beruf und deren Lebensdaten sowie das Zitat in der Landessprache sowie auf deutsch und auf englisch wiedergegeben sind. So findet es sich, dass Großbritannien mit dem nachstehenden Zitat von Isaac Newton vertreten ist:

Auf der Tafel für die Tschechische Republik ist ein Zitat von Jaroslaw Seifert wiedergegeben, das als Motto der virtuellen Ausstellung 'Zeugnisse zu Mathematikern' verstanden werden kann:

Im Mai 2013 waren nur noch wenige der einst vorhandenen Tafeln (9 von 33) in den Boden eingelassen. Auch die oben abgebildete mit dem Zitat von I. Newton ist nicht mehr vorhanden. Im April 2015 erfuhr ich, dass die bislang installierten Platten lediglich eine Testinstallation darstellten. Allerdings soll es erst in einigen Jahren zu einem endgültigen Pfad der Visionäre kommen, dann allerdings in größerem Umfang.

The Southern part of the street Friedrichstraße close to the Mehringplatz in the borough Kreuzberg is designed a pedestriants area containing the so-called Path of the Visionaries. This is establshed in form of metal plaques on the ground. Each of them is dedicated for another European state and shows the flag, its name in its individual language as well as in German and in English, the person which is cited together with its profession and the dates of its life but also the citation in the native language as well as in German and English. The plaque which is dedicated to Great Britain shows the following citation of Isaac Newton:

It is worth mentioning that the citation on the plaque dedicated to the Czech Republic may serve as motto of the virtual exhibition 'Monument on Mathematicians':

Below a photograph is provided which shows some plaques on the ground together with banners which state a "Cordial welcome on the Path of the Visionaries".

In May 2013 only very few plaques (9 out of 33) are still existing. The plaque with the quotation of I. Newton is vanished. In April 2015 I was told that the plaques so far have been an installation for testing purposes. The final Path of the Visionaries will be installed in a much broader sense.
