An der Ecke zum Place Saint-Étienne gesellen sich zum Straßenschild für
die abzweigende Straße, die nun nach
Pierre
de Fermat benannt ist, noch drei weitere Tafeln, welche nachstehend wiedergegeben
werden. Es sei allerdings noch darauf hingewiesen, dass der Text des Straßenschilds
auf okzitanisch verfasst
ist.
Die oberste von ihnen zeigt eine historische Ansicht und einen Text in französischer Sprache, der sich wie folgt übersetzen lässt:
| Rue Fermat "Carrièra1) de l'Olm de Santas Carbas" dann (im 16. Jahrhundert) Rue des Nobles (lässt sich mit "Straße der Adligen" übersetzen) Vor der Revolution wohnten hier im Wesentlichen die Parlamentarier, 1806 nahm sie den Namen des namhaften Mathematikers Pierre de Fermat (1601 - 1665) an. |
Die kleinere Tafel darunter (siehe unten) enthält im Wesentlichen den oben übersetzten Text in okzitanischer Sprache. Letztlich zeigt die unterste Tafel den Verlauf der Straße Rue Fermat in ansprechend gezeichneter schräger Parallelprojektion aus der Vogelperspektive.

At the corner related to the Place Saint-Étienne there is not only a simple
street-sign but also three plaques more concerning the history of the street which nowadays
is named after
Pierre
de Fermat. It should be mentioned that the street-sign is provided by means of the
language Occitan.
The upmost provides a historical view together with a French text which may be translated as follows:
| Rue Fermat "Carrièra1) de l'Olm de Santas Carbas" then (in the 16th century) Rue des Nobles (which may peferably be translated by "street of the nobles") Before the revolution much of the parliamentarians reside here. In 1806 the name of the famed mathematician Pierre de Fermat (1601 - 1665) was taken for the street's name. |
The small table below the first one contains essentially the text of the first one but in Occitan and hence consequentially a translation may be avoided here.
Finally the most lower plaque presents the street an the environment by means of a oblique projection in the bird's-eye view.
