Hierbei sollte erwähnt werden, dass Carl Gustav Jakob Jacobi und Alfred Clebsch primär als Mathematiker gewirkt haben. Ludwig Boltzmann, Max Born und Erwin Schrödinger sind durch ihre Leistungen in der Physik bekannt, haben aber auch als Professoren für Mathematik gelehrt. Mathematische Bezüge ergeben sich ferner bei Christian Samuel Weiss, dem die Entwicklung einer mathematisch begründeten Kristallographie gelang.

It should be mentioned that Carl Gustav Jakob Jacobi and Alfred Clebsch worked primarily in mathematics while Ludwig Boltzmann, Max Born, and Erwin Schrödinger are well-known for their contributions to physics but teached also mathematics. Relations to mathematics are also given for Christian Samuel Weiss, who developed a mathematical based cristallography.
