German translation of the Elements of Euklid In der Staatlichen Bibliothek in Ansbach (Adresse: Reitbahn 5) wurde vom 3. Februar bis zum 4. März 2014 die Ausstellung

Die vier Monde des Jupiter -
Die Entdeckung des Simon Marius in Ansbach 1614-2014

mit Leihgaben vom Staatsarchiv und des Markgrafen-Museums gezeigt. Dabei stand das Werk von S. Marius im Mittelpunkt des Interesses, so sein 1614 erschienenes Hauptwerk Mundus Jovialis1) (Die Welt des Jupiter, oberstes Bild, vergleiche auch diesen Eintrag des Simon-Marius-Portals

das am 18. Februar 2014 freigeschaltet wurde). Ferner die Astronomische und Astrologische beschreibung deß Cometen so im November und December vorigen 1618. Jahrs ist gesehen worden/ Genommen und Gestelt auß eygenen Observationibus dabey auch andere sachen kurtz eingemischet werden. Durch Simon Marium Guntzenhusanum, Fürstlichen Brandenburgischen bestelten Mathematicum unnd Medicum (siehe diesen Eintrag des Simon-Marius-Portals) und die Übersetzung der ersten sechs Bücher von Euklids Elementen ins Deutsche von Simon Marius (siehe die Abbildung auf der rechten Seite und diesen Eintrag des Simon-Marius-Portals).

Unter anderem wurde in der Ausstellung auch ein Stich einer Stadtansicht Ansbachs von Wenzel Hollar (* 1607 Prag - + 1677 London) ausgestellt; ein Ausschnitt dieses Stichs ist hier wiedergegeben.

Ferner wurde in der Gotischen Halle des Stadthauses (Adresse: Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Platz 1, Ansbach) vom 13. Januar bis 28. Februar 2014 die Ausstellung

Sonne, Mond und Marius

mit Kinderkunstwerken aus Protvino bei Moskau zum Thema "Simon Marius und das Universum" gezeigt. Zwei der Exponate mit Personenbezug, nämlich Astronom Simon Marius von Sima Motorina und Der Lehrer von Simon Marius von Vika Eshova werden am Ende dieser Seite wiedergegeben. (Wegen der starken Reflektionen konnten die Werke nicht optimal aufgenommen werden.)

Die Fotos wurden im Februar 2014 aufgenommen.

english From February 3rd up to Match 4th, 2014 the State Library in Ansbach (with address: Reitbahn 5) presented an exhibition named

The four moons of Jupiter -
The discovery of Simon Marius in Ansbach 1614-2014

with some objects lent from the State Archive and the Margrave Museum. This exhibition was focussed on the work of S. Marius, whose main work Mundus Jovialis1) (the world of Jupiter, the most upper picture, confer also this entry of the Simon Marius Portal

which was released on February 18th, 2014) was issued in 1614. Moreover an Astronomical and astrological description of a comet from November and December 1618 ... by Simon Marius from Guntzenhausen (see this entry of the Simon Marius Portal) and the translation of the first six books of Euclid's Elements to German by Simon Marius (see the picture on the right above and its entry of the Simon Marius Portal).

Moreover this exhibition presented also an engraving of a city's view from Ansbach by Wenzel Hollar (* 1607 Prague - + 1677 London); a small section of this engraving is provided here.

Moreover the building Stadthaus, which hosts the tourist information (address: Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Platz 1, Ansbach) hosted also the exhibition

Sun, Moon, and Marius

with artworks created by pupils from Protvino near Moskow concerning the topic "Simon Marius and the universe". Two of the exhibits with certain relation to the personage under consideration, namely Astronomer Simon Marius by Sima Motorina and The teacher of Simon Marius by Vika Eshova were reproduced at the end of this page. (Due to the reflections the artworks cannot be photographed in an optimal manner.)
