Tafel zu G. S. und M. Ohm / Plaque for G. S. and M. Ohm

deutsch Am Wohnhaus mit der Adresse Friedrichstr. 20 in Erlangen befindet sich eine Gedenktafel zu den Mathematikern Georg Simon Ohm und dessen jüngerem Bruder Martin Ohm. Die Tafel - die wie die andere in der Fahrstraße 11 angelegt ist - besitzt nachstehende Inschrift:

Hier lehrten als Privat[-]
dozenten der Physiker
Georg Simon Ohm 1789 - 1854
in den Jahren 1811 bis 1812
und der Mathematiker
Martin Ohm 1792 - 1872
in den Jahren 1812 bis 1817

Wohnhaus von G. S. und M. Ohm / Dwelling house of G. S. and M. Ohm Nebenstehend ist eine Gesamtansicht des Gebäudes wiedergegeben. Es sei noch darauf hingewiesen, dass auch Georg Simon Ohm als Mathematiker tätig war, er aber wegen des nach ihm benannten physikalischen Gesetzes besser bekannt ist.

english The house with address Friedrichstr. 20 in the city of Erlangen posseses a commemorating plaque for the mathematicians Georg Simon Ohm and his younger brother Martin Ohm. The plaque is designed like the one with address Fahrstraße 11. Its inscription reads like:

Here teached as private
readers the physicist
Georg Simon Ohm 1789 - 1854
in the years 1811 up to 1812
and the mathematician
Martin Ohm 1792 - 1872
in the years 1812 up to 1817

On the right hand side a total view of the dwelling house is provided. Additionally it should be mentioned that also Georg Simon Ohm worked as a mathematician. But certainly he is better known as the discoverer of the physical law named after him.
